Trade fairs at BolognaFiere

The BolognaFiere exhibition centre lies north-east of the old town and hosts international events all year round. Some of the best known, with the period they usually take place:

  • Arte Fiera — modern and contemporary art, usually early in the year.
  • Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna — beauty and cosmetics, in spring.
  • Bologna Children's Book Fair — children's publishing, in spring.
  • Cersaie — ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, late September to early October.
  • EIMA International — agricultural machinery, in autumn (held every two years).

Dates change every year, so check the official BolognaFiere website. During the big fairs the city fills up, so it's worth booking well in advance.

From the loft to the fair

By taxi the exhibition centre is about 15–20 minutes away, depending on traffic; city buses are an alternative and are often reinforced on fair days. In the evening, instead of staying out in the suburbs, you're back in the heart of the historic centre: dinner on foot on Via Castiglione or in the Quadrilatero, and a drink on the terrace.

Remote work

  • Fast 150 Mbps wifi throughout.
  • A study with a desk, separate from the living area, for video calls.
  • Quiet: the entrance is on a dead-end lane and the windows face inwards.
  • Breaks on the terrace or a run in Giardini Margherita, two minutes away.

Long stays

For stays of weeks or months the loft is a real home: a fully equipped kitchen (induction hob, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso), washing machine, iron, safe, air conditioning and heating in every room, cotton linen included. Supermarket, bakery and café are a minute away. Long-stay terms are shown on Airbnb.

Graduations and university visits

The University of Bologna, founded in 1088, is considered the oldest university in the Western world. For a graduation or a family visit, the loft sleeps up to 4, within walking distance of the university quarter and Piazza Maggiore — with a terrace to celebrate on.
